There was a poster at COTD's latest concert (December 30, 2019) that announced that they will release a new re-recorded album called, REVENGE OF THE VISITORS.
Though the poster says REVENVE, we believe they meant to say REVENGE...
The album is most likely performed by the VISITORS TEAM (Narasaki (vocals & guitar), Kanno (drums), Negishi (guitar), Nagasawa (bass), and Takatori (guitar))

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been delayed...


On March 24, 2020, Vinyl Junkie Recordings tweeted that if COTD's new YouTube channel exceeds 1000 subscribers, they'll do something special~.

Nobu Takatori was COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS' guitarist during 1992 and 1997. (Queens Park all you change and CAT EP)
He re-joined COTD for their 2019 lives.
Recently, he has been live streaming on TwitCasting.

According to a Japanese fan, Takatori mentioned that there was a proposal for COTD to perform abroad in 2019. They had a plan, but due to COVID-19 and possibly financial issues, it has been stopped...
Maybe it'll be something to look forward to in the future!



Ex-guitarist and vocalist, ICHIMAKI, has left her band, BP. in March 2019.
She started a new band in January 2020 called キュビノワ / Qubinowa.
They had plans for a live for April 2020, but it was cancelled due to COVID-19.
However, they will be having a live stream concert on July 5, 2020.

COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS and BP. ...and RABBIT EP?!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
On December 30th, 2013, COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS and BP. had a live together at Ikebukuro CHOP (Tokyo, Japan). ICHIMAKI performed with COTD towards the end of the concert- they ended with the cover of My Bloody Valentine's "sue is fine". COTD also covered a song from the band, LUSH.
 During the MC of COTD's gig, a fan asked NARASAKI about RABBIT EP and he replied that it'll be released in 12 months (2014) depending on his manager. The concert seemed like a great ending for 2013 and now we're even more eager on waiting for RABBIT EP.

The long-awaited RABBIT EP has been delayed due to NARASAKI's injury and possibly because of his involvement with working on anime soundtrack music with Mawaru Penguindrum and UN-GO.

COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS has done a number of gigs the past few months. They will be doing another gig in May.

NARASAKI announced at a recent live show, that RABBIT EP will be released some time in October.

COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS will contribute a song, Hallucination, in The Light Shines into Your Dream charity compilation album. It will be released on August 3rd.

梁山泊 [2001]

In 2001, COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS was on a TV show called, 梁山泊 (Ryo Zang Pak).
I think it's a comedy game show.
Only the members, NARASAKI, KANNO, and ICHIMAKI, and another band (I forgot their name) were on the game show.
The videos USED TO BE on YouTube, but due to copyright laws, the videos were taken down.
I tried to find more information on this episode, but none were recorded online.

From what I remember from watching the videos, COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS and the other band were asked questions and some were personal. After all the points were added up, in the end, the other band won.

If anyone has any information on this episode and TV show, please let me know!

According to my internet COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS fan friend from Japan, Takecopter is a song that was released on January 15th by mobile phone only through TONE (tyaku-uta(着うた)). The song was made during the making of the NO THANK YOU album with NARASAKI and ICHIMAKI and was never released until now! I think they mention My Bloody Valentine because the song was inspired by them.
It's a cute amazing song!
